Happy 29th birthday, Leesa!!! I'm sure you won't have to retreive eggs from your hens, or sling any hash, or even feed all 15 dogs, since it's your 'special' day!!! Have a great day, and celebrate by getting samples at PERMIDA!!!! ;-)

Romantic Tom might just take you on a cruise in the cammo duckboat if you really beg.....:-)

Stop it, Beckums. Were you going to try to say it as many times as she is old? That could get a little boring.
Or is the Alzheimers already settling in and you forgot that you had already said it? ;-)

I'm sure no one will see this comment as it is so late, BUT, I just wanted to comment on that wonderful picture of some of the Shirls at BASS LAKE!! We miss you guys! And hope your birthday was great, Leesa!

I suppose the "Shirls" are pretty sparse at Bass Lake. I know it hasn't always been that way. When did we stop going (a majority of us, that is)?

I'll go ahead and be the first to answer part of my question.

The last time I went to Bass lake was in 1993, I believe.

I remember I was going into my Sophmore year of high school. While at Bass Lake, I was fishing off of the dock and caught a BIG bass. I was so excited I went running down the dock and when I turned the corner, at the end, I slipped on a wet spot. My right shin ran right into the corner of a section of dock that was sitting out of the water and I got a nasty puncture wound. My mom took me to the hospital in Blue Earth (I think?) where I was stitched up.

Ah, the memories. ;) It wasn't family camp without an injury.

And I haven't been back since...until?
