Anchorage, AK

We had a wonderful time today, our first full day in Alaska. We went to church this morning to a church that our church supports. It was good to see their work here. Then, we drove down to Seward, AK. It is about 130 miles south of Anchorage. The drive was beautiful. It was rainy and cloudy - we never really saw the sun, but it was still gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice, because of the clouds and rain. I'll turn it over to Mom.

What an awesome God we have! The huge, rugged moutains, some with snow on top, and the beautiful dark green of the pines and the contrasting gold and yellow Aspen and birch.....SPECTACULAR! Daniel chauffered us roundtrip about 260 miles of beauty! What a great guy we have for our son-in-law!

Greetings and Salutations!

Hi, y'all!
This is Sarah, alias The Bookworm. : )
Thanks, Joel for allowing me to become a blog member!

As most all of you know, I am now in Nevada, Missouri attending Cottey College, a small, private girls' school. I feel like I have adjusted pretty well to college. I don't like all the "girl drama", but the college itself is fine. Most of my classes are enjoyable. There are a few professors that I am not too fond of, but overall, I can't complain. I am taking French 1, English Literature, Introduction to Poetry, College Algebra, SCUBA diving, piano lessons, and flute lessons. They are all interesting, challenging, and time-consuming!

I have settled into Nevada by now too. Of course, that is not hard to do when one's grandmother knows almost everyone who lives in the town! : ) I am going to First Baptist Church, and have become a choir member there. I love choir, and the choir loves me! They all think I'm wonderful and are glad to have me there, which is nice. : ) It is also rather funny, because I'm the only choir member under 45 years of age! In fact, the choir members start arguing over who gets to sit next to me during rehearsals. They're just pretty desperate for new members, I guess. : )

That's all for now. Tune in next time for another great episode of The College Connection!

Apple Orchard

We went to an apple orchard on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. The weather was perfect. Cool, and Fall like. Erica and Eva Barnes came with us. Philip was unable to come. Just thought you would enjoy some of the pictures.

Ham Family Photos

Hello Family & Friends,

The Lord blessed the Ham family with the opportunity to gather together back at the beginning of August. While together, we took advantage and snapped a few photographs. We did alright, considering it was over 100 degrees and 100% humidity. We had a blast together and look forward to the next time God brings us to each other. We just wanted to share a few of the photos...enjoy!

Labor Day at the Dome

We celebrated the last unofficial day of summer today by going to a Twins game. They lost to the Cleveland Indians, but we still managed to have a lot of fun. Tomorrow will be a big day - first day of school!
