Easter at the Turner's

We had such a great time at the Turner's
on Easter Sunday! Many thanks to Wendy
for such a wonderful brunch! I thought
everyone might enjoy a few pics...

Ka-Boynk!

It's A Boy!

Stacy had her ultrasound on Friday afternoon. After our twins scare at a previous doctor’s appointment, we were able to clear up that question right off the bat. There is only one baby in there. The technician was a little mean and made us wait until the end of the ultrasound to find out the gender. There was no doubt about it; it is clearly a boy! We’re very excited! His name will be Clay Daniel Ham. Our due date is still August 2nd. Thank you for your continued prayers for Stacy and Clay.

The Hams Are Moving

Joel, Stacy, and Edith...not any of the other Hams. ;)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! On March 5th I was offered the position of Loss Prevention Manager at my company’s (ShopNBC) Bowling Green, KY distribution center. This promotion is a big step in my career and brings with it many more opportunities than I have currently. I do not have a start date as of yet and it appears as though my boss will be patient and give us a good opportunity to sell our home before requiring me to go to work in KY.

Since accepting the position, Stacy and I have been working on getting our home ready to sell. We want to get it listed as soon as possible. We hired a contractor to come in and finish a lot of the projects around the house that we had started, but haven’t had time to finish. When the work is completed we will have a newly renovated bathroom with new flooring, wainscoting, tiled shower, new sink, new light fixtures, fresh wall/ceiling paint, and enameled woodwork. Our kitchen is also getting some major work done. It will have new flooring, new countertops, new hardware on freshly enameled cupboards, new light fixtures, and fresh wall/ceiling paint. Finally, besides a few smaller repairs around the rest of the house, the last thing we will do is add new carpet to our living room. Work has already begun and we still have a lot of work ahead of us.

We are very thankful for those helping us. Gordon, Stacy’s dad, has been out the last two days working on getting the cupboards enameled and walls primed. Last week we took the cupboard doors & drawers to him and they are all done. My mom is flying in tomorrow to stay with us for a week and a half. No doubt she will be a huge help in getting us organized, cleaned, and giving Stacy better feedback on colors & design ideas than I could ever hope to do. This Saturday we have a contingent from our church coming to help paint the basement and maybe put some flooring down. Then dad is coming on the 26th to help until he and mom leave on Sunday the 30th.

Unfortunately, as part of getting ready to sell our house and move down to BG, we have to find a new home for our dog, Boomer. If you know of anyone who has a distinct liking for big dogs, send them our way. Here’s Boomer’s info: Breed-Great Pyrenees, Gender-Male, Born-12/21/2006, Color-White, Registered-AKC, pure bred, not fixed, Size-BIG. Click on Boomer to be taken to a slideshow of photos of him. He’s a great family dog; Edith loves him and he’s great with her. He very rarely barks when he shouldn’t. We need to find his new home very soon (within a week or two), because we will be finishing the work on the house and, Lord willing, showing it to prospective buyers very soon. Thanks for any help you can provide.

We are excited to see where God will lead us and we seek His guidance as we strive to know what to do. Many important decisions will need to be made, our house will need to sell (faster than on average), and we are moving, which is a huge ordeal in itself. Please pray for us. Pray that we will be able to get the work done that needs to be done in order to get our house listed. Pray that we will honor God during the process of selling our home. Pray that we find a good home, in a good area. Pray that we find a Christ-centered, Bible teaching/preaching church that is traveling the narrow way as a congregation. Pray that Stacy’s pregnancy continues to go well.

We are excited about what is happening and our opportunity to trust God through it. We will keep you updated on our progress as time permits. Thank you for your prayers.

Happy Birthday Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma!

Happy Belated Birthday!
Shirley gracefully turned 74 on Sunday, March 2nd. We hope you had a fun-filled celebration. We're extremely grateful for your love for each of us and for your love for your Savior. You have been, and continue to be, an example of Christ's love and servant spirit that we may follow. We look forward to, Lord willing, many more years of fun and laughter.
Love,
Your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren

Edith & Ham Baby #2 Update

Hello Family!

I just wanted to fill everyone in on the latest with Edith & Ham Baby #2.

Edith went to see the doctor last week. She is healthy in all regards and the doctor is happy with her growth. Her stats are; height - 28 5/8", weight - 19# 8oz, head circumference - 17 1/4". Edith is crawling around quite easily now and has started to pull herself up to a standing position. She jabbers a lot and still has a ready smile. The front, top two & front, bottom two teeth are still where she is at for teeth. We continue to introduce her to more and more "adult" foods at lunch & dinner and she seems to like everything we give her. She's a lot of fun and we thank God for her.

The same doctor appointment for Edith was for Stacy & baby #2. Stacy has been healthy and sickness-free for this pregnancy, as she was with Edith. Praise God! Baby #2 appears to be healthy and growing well. The doctor, when trying to listen for the heartbeat, was having a hard time keeping it in one spot. When checking Stacy's uterus, she said that it seemed a little high. These two things may end up meaning nothing, but she said there is a possibility that we may have twins. We're not getting too worked up just yet. We will have another appointment in 3-4 weeks, with an ultrasound shortly thereafter. So, we'll wait and see what that reveals. ;) Needless to say, we're eager to get to that ultrasound! :)

We're so thankful that God has blessed us with a healthy, happy family! Without His love and guideance, we would be lost and unhappy. We are amazed at how He continues to work in us and through us and pray that He will continue to look favorably on our family and give us peace. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Love,

Joel, Stacy, Edith, and Baby #2
